Course Details
Learn how to more fully appreciate great writing at this English Literature summer school at Cambridge. Designed for 16-17-year-old students, it’s where you'll explore the writings of Wordsworth, Virginia Woolf, Ali Smith and many others. You’ll spend time with writing penned centuries ago, right through to the work of more modern writers. Through the seminars and tutorials you’ll learn how to analyse literary texts and argue your point of view around interpretation. As you learn, there’s also time to make new friends with like-minded students, and to explore Cambridge with its many colleges. Every day will be a busy one, with Oxbridge-style teaching, along with evening activities, excursions and free time to do your own thing.
Accommodation
- Experience what it’s like to be a student in Cambridge, with two weeks in a historic college
- Breakfast and dinner served daily in the college dining hall or a recommended local restaurant
- Take advantage of college social spaces
- Celebrate each week with a formal dinner in true Cambridge style

Oxford Summer Courses was established in 2010 by two Oxford University alumni, Harry Hortyn and Robert Phipps. Offering a diverse range of over 40 subjects tailored for ages 9 to 24, their summer courses are hosted at prestigious university colleges and boarding schools in iconic cities including Oxford, Cambridge, London, and more. In 2023 alone, over 2,380 students experienced Oxford Summer Courses.
