Discover your voice on the ISSOS Creative Writing program. We nurture your literary talents, empowering you to craft their narratives and express yourself authentically. Over three weeks, you’ll engage in diverse projects—essays, short stories, and poetry—to cultivate your unique voices. Led by published writers, students benefit from expert guidance, refining their writing structure and enhancing all facets of communication. Regular practice and constructive feedback foster confidence and imagination while promoting mental well-being. With 39 hours of tuition and opportunities to explore elective subjects, students delve into various writing styles, drawing inspiration from personal experiences and the world around them. You may even see your work featured in our summer school magazine, The ISSOS Times.
Accommodation
- Reside in university student accommodation alongside peers of similar age and gender.
- Groups consist of 8 to 15 students, living together in designated halls for the entire program.
- Counselors are accessible 24/7, residing in the accommodation to provide support and guidance.
- Dietary preferences and allergies are accommodated, including options for halal or vegetarian meals.
Tuition
- Highly qualified teaching staff specialize in their respective fields, ensuring quality instruction.
- Campus management and summer school counselors are devoted to providing an exceptional experience for students.
- Academic classes, led by experienced professionals, convene for 3 hours each weekday morning.
- Students pair one academic subject with an elective class, such as a sport or recreational activity, for the entire 3-week program.
- A total of 39 hours of tuition is provided throughout the program duration.
- No classes at weekends.
Extracurricular Activities:
- Packed schedule of engaging activities, including evening programs, and several cultural excursions.
- Students get plenty of free time to socialize, relax or grab snacks at their leisure.
- Each student is part of a Clans, with Clans engaging in competitions for the Clan Cup or Spirit Shield.
- Excursions to cultural sites include day trips to neighbouring cities.
- The program ends with popular Highland Games and a memorable final night dance.
ISSOS provides a unique summer program for 13 to 18-year-olds worldwide at prestigious universities of St Andrews, Cambridge, and Yale. ISSOS offers a well-rounded, supervised curriculum where students choose academic and elective classes. With over 80 nationalities represented, ISSOS fosters an international family environment, promoting friendships across borders. Places are limited to 10% for one nationality.
